Virgin One approached Owen Bond Partnership when they outgrew their existing offices on the outskirts of Norwich. A warehouse adjacent to their existing offices became available and the practice were engaged to convert this into a well equipped, environmentally friendly call centre with associated office and staff facilities within a very tight programme.

The main aim was to ensure the quality of the working environment and the practice worked with the services engineer to create an innovative lighting design that provided an even distribution of light across the working surfaces. This high quality working environment was coupled with a simple crisp treatment of the external facades which updated the appearance of the building.

All the client’s aims were achieved within the programme and the building secured a Craftsmanship Award from the Norfolk Association of Architects and images of the interior of the building have been widely used in the lighting manufacturer’s promotional material.
