We have experience with a wide range of projects, enabling us to provide practical and creative advice and design solutions for a variety of projects. We predominately work in the Private Residential, Commercial, Residential and Education sectors but also complete projects such as barn conversions, listed building renovations & extension, new build commercial projects and a host of specialist planning and masterplanning projects.
Amber has over 10 years’ experience in the planning and property industry, spanning both the public and private sectors. Amber has dealt with a wide range of planning applications, from smaller scale individual schemes to larger scale mixed use projects in East Anglia, London and the South East. She has worked in various roles, including Councils to private consultancies and larger multi-disciplinary companies. She has worked with a variety of clients including NHS Trusts, Councils and private developers.
Amber joined Brown and Co in June 2016 and is currently involved in various projects including the submission of representations to Local plan consultation opportunities and the preparation and submission of planning applications.
In her spare time Amber enjoys spending time with her family, eating out and thinking a lot about keeping fit!
Caroline has over 10 years’ experience in practice management and Architectural administration.
She has had several roles, varying from assisting with the smooth running of a busy, award-winning London practice, to project support roles within a smaller residential practice, aiding with submission of complex planning applications and appeals in the conservation areas of Greenwich.
Caroline relocated to Norwich in the summer of 2016 and joined the Architecture+Planning team at Brown & Co, where she is currently involved with the promotion of the division, production of marketing material and assistance with business development.
Caroline is enjoying being back in Norfolk and spending time on the beach with her family. She likes to keep fit and also relaxing with a glass of wine as she considers life to be about balance!
Charlotte joined Owen Bond in 2016 after working for a large conservation practice in Norwich, Oxford and Hong Kong. Charlotte gained a Masters in Architectural Engineering at the University of Leeds, prior to gaining her Postgraduate Diploma in Architecture, a Masters in International Architectural Regeneration and Development and her professional Examination in Management, Practice and Law at Oxford Brookes University.
Charlotte has wide-ranging and varied skills and experience having worked with both existing historic buildings and also new build properties in a variety of sectors, including residential, hospitality, education and commercial. She has worked on projects ranging from smaller works to listed churches to multi-million pound new build residential projects in London. Charlotte enjoys working on all types of projects but her passion is historic buildings where she enjoys the unpredictability and the fact that no two projects are ever the same.
Charlotte sits on the Planning Appraisal Committee of the Norwich Society and is the Honorary Secretary for the Norfolk Association of Architects council. In her spare time, she plays badminton, is a keen baker and produces her own lino prints.
Daniel joined Owen Bond in 2016 following an architectural degree at Anglia Ruskin University and several years working in the construction industry; producing detailed construction drawings for a wide range of projects. Primarily experienced in the residential sector, Daniel has since spread his wings and with Barn conversions, school projects and commercial work he has expanded his knowledge base considerably.
He is a skilled Architectural Technologist and works with all of the team to help deliver technical design packages, tender documents and construction drawings. He is an Associate with the Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists. He is an avid football fan with a love for the red side of Manchester, which results in heated debates with Ian Norris.

Fraser joined Owen Bond in 2014 after working in Suffolk, Manchester and Liverpool. He studied at the Manchester School of Architecture and gained his Postgraduate Diploma in Architectural Practice from Birmingham City University. He has wide experience in various project types, ranging from one-off housing schemes, listed building works and school projects. His design projects balance a contemporary design approach with a practical understanding of construction and a love for local materials and sustainability.
Fraser is an Architect registered with the Architects Registration Board and a chartered member of the Royal Institute of British Architects. He also loves his rugby and is currently building his own Grand Design.
Ian joined Owen Bond as a trainee in 2001, and continued his development by obtaining a BSc (Hons) Degree in Architectural Technology from Anglia Ruskin University, Chelmsford in 2007 and is now a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologist (MCIAT).
Ian has been involved in a wide variety of projects and prides himself on being able to provide the ideal design based on the clients brief. His experience within the practice has enabled him to gain the understanding and knowledge to now be the lead designer on projects, be it an extension to a residential property or the construction of a large warehouse unit.
Since the age of 5, he has been an avid Liverpool FC fan but has no legitimate reason why.
James joined Brown & Co Architecture and Planning as an Architectural Assistant in June 2017 after graduating with a First Class BA Hons degree in Architecture from Norwich University of the Arts.
His third-year project was located in Belfast and focused on urban farming and community cooking and he was awarded a sustainability prize at his degree show. He has a passion for incorporating green spaces and planting into his work which stems from his childhood growing up in rural North Norfolk.
In his spare time, he likes drawing and graphic design as well as going for bike rides in the North Norfolk countryside.
Jo joined the Norwich office Land Agency department in 2008 and moved across to Architecture + Planning in 2015. Prior to Brown & Co she worked as a secretary in London for a number of years, and after a period working in Sydney and travelling through South East Asia she decided Norfolk living was more appealing than the hustle and bustle of London again.
Jo has enjoyed the occasional challenge including marathon running and cycling LEJOG in 2012.
Nick joined Brown & Co in 2016, having worked previously in a number of planning roles, principally in the public sector, including as a Planning Inspector.
As a chartered town planner with over 30 years’ experience, Nick has been involved in a wide variety of projects ranging from small scale housing to large urban extensions, retail, leisure and commercial schemes, renewable energy and agricultural development. His core skills are in promoting sustainable development, assessing development potential and negotiating projects through the complexities of planning policy and legislation.
Away from work, Nick enjoys country walks, film photography and making furniture.
Paul has over 40 years’ experience in Town and Country Planning, of which 25 was spent in local Government. He began his career being seconded to both East and West Suffolk County Councils prior to local Government reorganisation in April 1974. From there he moved to a number of different posts with Councils throughout the East of England before joining Broadland District Council.
In his time in local Government, he dealt with a wide range of proposals from large scale growth areas on the edges of major towns and settlements, to large commercial proposals, and dealing with enforcing planning controls throughout the East of England. He acted as expert witness on a range of appeals and became Head of Development Control at his last Authority, Broadland District Council.
Paul joined Brown & Co in March 2015.
Paul holds an annual BBQ for the A+P team and can be found in his apron manning the coals. With themes ranging from Pirates to Hawaii, this is a greatly anticipated date on the calendar!
Steve joined Owen Bond in June 2016, but has over 25 years’ experience in Architecture and Masterplanning, 20 years of which have been at partner level. Steve has masterplanned many large scale projects of regional and national importance, including significant sectors of the UEA campus and King’s Lynn Millennium Village. He has also designed important award winning buildings including Wymondham College Sixth Form Block, Into International School at UEA, and recently won the greenest building award in Suffolk, for a low carbon classroom block at Moreton Hall Preparatory School.
When not in his recording studio creating music of debatable quality, he can be seen in a variety of hostelries nursing a large glass of wine, and boring the locals with terrible jokes and endless anecdotes. You have been warned.
