The Old Rectory in Sutton is a fine example of a Victorian period country house. The house had, over the years, had a number of incongruous alterations and extensions. Owen Bond Partnership were, originally, commissioned to design replacements for two existing conservatories and also to extend the house to create a new bedroom, a music room and an extension to the library.

The design required careful detailing to avoid the obvious conflict between the various functions.

Following this project the practice has continued to work with the client to refurbish and modify the house to restore and modernise the property.

This work has always been in consultation with the client and has sought to create an environment that reflects contemporary living and minimise the CO2 emissions..
